A: The installation follows a simple and linear plan, which ECONOMAX® will give you all the details of during before your purchase. Installation can be carried out by any trusted plumber. The diameters of output and input tubes should be at least equal (or bigger) than those of the cooling tower. Moreover, it is necessary to arrange an input and output directional control valve from each machine of the workroom.

A: No, the machines can continue to work in their original configuration. Instead, it is necessary to operate on the pressostatic valves, which tend to obstruct the water flow. The optimal solution consists in the removal of the valves or their complete opening, loosening the correct regulation screws.
- the correct treatment of return water (a problem almost completely solved with the use of a softener); however, each tower has a polyphosphate dispenser and a water discharge system.
- In case of installation inside the laboratory, make sure that the saturated air from the tower is correctly discharged outside. Keep the environment well-ventilated.
Attention: do not block the air vents on the fan cover, which should be at a minimum distance of 250 mm from any obstacle.
Note: dispenser and discharger, though helpful to the use, DO NOT by themselves ensure the optimal solution for every operating condition. Dispense and discharge are, in fact, carried out only on the basis of water “volumes” (flow rate) and not on the chemical-physical quality. It is therefore preferable to integrate such accessories with a water softening and treatment system (see “optional”).
A: Each ECONOMAX® tower is equipped with a pressure detector that communicates directly with the electrical inverter of the pump. This way the parameter of the hydraulic circuit are automatically monitored and regulated, maintaining constant optimal water flow rate and pressure for the correct functioning of the tower and cooling of the machines.
A: The cooling ability of the tower is strictly connected to the dimensions of the machine and the quality of the air in the room, since this is the keystone of the tower’s functioning. The water temperature coming out of the tower cannot therefore be lowered than a certain limit (wet-bulb temperature). The flow rate sent to the machines is, however, measured to sufficiently cool the compressors. ECONOMAX® towers are equipped with a forced return fresh water system from the water network which ensures quick lowering of the temperature when machines are not performing correctly.
A: To avoid such extreme and improbable situation, it is sufficient to create a bypass in the hydraulic system with a series of valves (layout available at the MITA s.r.l. Technical Office) to exclude the cooling tower and operate with non-recycled water for the time necessary to carry out repairs and maintenance.
A: None in particular. Once a year, at the beginning of the season, check the general state of the machine, the correct functioning of fan and pump, and that there is no limescale or deposits on the thermal fill and the droplet separator (the last two in particular must always be at their highest efficiency). Moreover, it is very important to periodically verify the correct functioning of the auxiliary systems (when present) for water treatment, such as softeners, dispensers, etc.
A: From an operational point of view, external installation is the best solution since air circulation is optimal. In winter, when the system isn’t functioning, it is a good practice to empty the tubes connecting the tower to water, to avoid freezing. If the system is operating also in winter, it is suggested to install a heating element with thermostat in the tower’s tank and isolate the input and output water tubes.
